Leadership Institute
What is the Leadership Institute?
Some read the title Leadership Institute and immediately dismiss the idea of involvement declaring “I’m not a leader”
– maybe even, “I don’t want to be a leader”. The truth is, at some level, we’re all leaders. By definition, if anyone is following you, you’re a leader; whether it’s your children, friends, co-workers, teammates, or on Twitter – everyone has followers.
Disciple-making requires leadership. As Christians, we’re commanded to be leaders: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV)
If you’ve been at New Vision for any time, you should be familiar with the baseball diamond we use to describe our discipleship process: 1st base – WORSHIP; 2nd base – CONNECT 3rd base – SERVE; home plate – GO. We believe that a fully-developed disciple of Christ should be involved in each of these areas. Our leadership institute is designed to equip you to cross each of these bases and then to lead others around them.
